The Art
Orignal work was Silkscreen on canvas x cm edition of tenbrbrOne of the most influential artists of his generation JeanMichel Basquiat catapulted to fame with his raw graphic fusion of words cartoons and cultural references His close friendships with Keith Haring and Andy Warhol and his tragically early death only add intrigue to his brief but brilliant career Artcom has reached deep into the Basquiat Estate archives to handpick these rare images many of which are only exhibited in museums Each piece has been carefully reproduced with our gicle printing process to maximize color accuracy and resolution

Jean-Michel Basquiat dominated the late 1980s art scene. Today, his work ranks as some of the most valuable and recognizable in art history. In TUXEDO, we see him magnifying the iconic crown, which some suggest denotes his mastery of painting.

This collectible double-sided poster is heavier than your standard poster. The unique printing process creates a backside image that mirrors the front, producing a deep and life-like image.

The Artist
One of the most original and influential artists of his generation, Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960 – 1988) produced deceptively unsophisticated-looking works that belied a complex and unique talent. Born in Brooklyn of Haitian and Puerto Rican descent, Basquiat first gained notoriety with graffiti artwork. He catapulted to fame with paintings that incorporated a fusion of words, symbols, stick figures, animals, and historical and cultural references. Befriended by Andy Warhol, Basquiat collaborated with the renowned Pop Artist on 100 artworks. Despite a career tragically cut short by a heroin overdose, Basquiat introduced the unique African-American and Latino experience to the elite art world.

Love it
I'm creating a gallery wall in my living room. It looks great with what I have up so far. I also have Franz Kline's Untitled c1951 on the same wall.

Ok ... could be better care.
The print and quality itself is great! The size of the print was smaller than I expected, but that could be put on myself or not physically measuring. When I received that print it was very poorly rolled (unevenly) into the shipping sleeve. I don't really think this had anything to do with the shipping itself, though it may have, but more so possible how it's being stored until it was purchased. The rolling of the print was oblong, making it difficult to frame evenly. It feels as though it has been sitting for quite sometime in a rolled form with most likely something on top of it. It may be better to store you're prints flat until they are sold if they are not already being stored that way now. It gives the customer a better end result.
