Fish-eye lens view of the summer Milky Way, from the constellation of Cygnus (top) to the constell- ations of Scorpius and Sagittarius (bottom). The southern Milky Way, with its brilliant star clouds intersected by dark lanes of interstellar dust, can only be seen from the northern hemisphere during the summer months. The photograph was taken with a 16mm lens that encompasses nearly 180 degrees of the sky. The foreground has become blurred as the camera tracked the stars during the 10-minute time exposure. 16mm, f/2.8, 10 min. exposure, Fuji 400-D pushed to 1600. This photographic print is digitally printed on archival photographic paper resulting in vivid, pure color and exceptional detail that is suitable for museum or gallery display.
