Russian destroyer at sea. View of the Udaloy class destroyer Admiral Panteleyev taken from one of its helicopters. The Udaloy class were designed for anti-submarine warfare although their armament allows them to be used in a variety of roles. These ships are equipped with SS-N-14 anti-submarine missiles, SA-N-9 anti-aircraft missiles, two 100mm guns, torpedo tubes and rocket launchers. This view highlights the rear flight deck, used to operate the ship's two Kamov Ka-27 'Helix' helicopters. In 2009, the Admiral Panteleyev was used to combat pirates off the Somali coast. Photographed in October 2007. This photographic print is digitally printed on archival photographic paper resulting in vivid, pure color and exceptional detail that is suitable for museum or gallery display.
