John Butler is an artist who has won awards both in the USA and the UK. He has illustrated over 60 picture books for children which have been published in more than 20 countries including Australia, China, South Korea, the USA and the UK. Through a 40 year career he has specialised in portraying wildlife subjects and his paintings are well known throughout the world for their detail and warm appeal. They celebrate the beauty and wonder of the living world. His instantly recognisable and original style has captivated children with its softness and realism and he is especially gifted at imbuing character and personality into all the subjects he paints. He lives and works in the South East of England.
