Using time-bleached nature photographs from thrifted books as her canvases, Danielle Kroll gives new life to forgotten art. “My paintings give the most buried pages of a book the chance to be acknowledged again,” she says. “I do a lot of imaging before physically painting.” Finding fascination in everything from inanimate objects to long walks through her now-home in New York City, Danielle delights in altering the context of an original image by weaving in the unexpected.
