Jean Francois de Galaup, Comte de La Perouse, 18th century French navigator, astronomer and explorer, c1830. La Perouse (1741-1788) spent four years (1785-1788) exploring the islands in the Pacific Ocean, China and Japan, Hawaii, Australia and the Western Coast of North America. La Perouse and his expedition were lost in the Pacific in 1788, probably after being shipwrecked. This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
