'St Michael and Engracia', c1489-c1513. St Michael the Archangel stands on the devil. In his right hand he holds the scales which weigh the souls of men. On the left is St Engracia (Encratis or Encratide), a Portuguese virgin martyred in 304 at Saragossa, Spain during the persecution of Christians by the Emperor Diocletian (284-313). In one hand she holds a martyr's palm and from her head a nail protrudes. This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
