'The Battle of the Chernaya River on August 16, 1855', 19th century. Battle scene from the Crimean War. The battle began with an offensive by the Russians across the River Chernaya to try to lift the siege of Sebastopol. They were defeated by the Allied French, Ottoman and Sardinian forces, suffering heavy casualties in the process. Found in the collection of the State Museum of the Defence of Sevastopol 1854-1855, Sevastopol, Ukraine. This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
