HMS 'Thrush', British 1st class gunboat, c1890-c1893. Launched in 1889, HMS 'Thrush' saw action in the 40 minute Anglo-Zanzibar War in 1896. She was also on active service during the Boer War. 'Thrush' was wrecked off Glenarm, Northern Ireland, in 1917 while serving as a salvage vessel. A print from Her Majesty's Navy Including its Deeds and Battles, by Lieut Chas Rathbone Low, Volume III, JS Virtue & Co, London, 1890-1893. This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
