'Indian Gratitude - Peruvians attending Las Cassas', (19th century). Bartolome de Las Casas, (1484-1566) was a 16th-century Spanish Dominican priest, and the first resident Bishop of Chiapas in Mexico. He defended the rights of indigenous Peruvians against the slavery imposed on them by the Spanish Conquistadors. He is depicted here, possibly on his deathbed, with grateful Peruvian Indians. This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
