The impeachment of Andrew Johnson, 5 March 1868, (1872). Johnson (1808-1875), seventeenth President of the United States, succeeded to the presidency upon the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. His term lasted from 1865 to 1869. He was impeached in 1868 but was acquitted. Engraving from A Child's History of the United States by John Gilmary Shea, published by Hess and McDavitt, (New York, 1872). This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
