'Napoleon on St Helena', 1815-1821 (1826). Napoleon Bonaparte (Napoleon I) (1769-1821), Emperor of France 1804-1815. Above his head is an eagle carrying a branch of laurel with the names of his famous battles written on the leaves. After his defeat at Waterloo in 1815 and his subsequent surrender to the British, he was exiled to the island of St Helena where he died. French popular print. This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
