'Hunting a Mare', 1819. An ass, with the profile of Lord Mayor of London John Atkins, flees from Henry Hunt and a crowd of jeering followers. Flames issue from his rump and from a saucepan tied to his tail. It is an allusion to Atkins' measures to control the crowd at the trial of Richard Carlile in the Guildhall. This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
