Holy Island, Northumberland, 1924-1926. The island of Lindisfarne, also known as Holy Island, was the site of a monastery founded by St Aidan in c635. The castle on the island dates from the 16th century. A print from Hutchinson's Britain Beautiful, edited by Walter Hutchinson, volume III, 1924-1926. This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
