Pilgrims, Solovetsky Monastery, Russia, 1904. Situated on the Solovetsky Islands in the White Sea in northern Russia, Solovetsky Monastery was founded in 1429. In Stalinist times it converted into a prison and labour camp, a prototype for the Gulag system. Found in the collection of the State Museum of History, Moscow. This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
