Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin with his wife, 1962. Gagarin (1934-1968) married Valentina Goryacheva in 1957. He became the first man in space when he orbited the Earth aboard Vostok 1 on 12 April 1961. Gagarin was killed in a plane crash while on a routine training flight on 27 March 1968. Found in the collection of the Russian State Film and Photo Archive, Krasnogorsk. This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
