Cobbling, Earlswood Asylum, Reigate, 1904. Opened in 1848, the Royal Earlswood Hospital was an asylum for people with learning difficulties, or 'idiots' as they were described at the time. Patients were taught various manual trades. A print from Social England, edited by HD Traill and JS Mann, volume VI. (Cassell and Company Limited, London, 1904). This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
