Cawnpore Well, India, c1925. View of a memorial to an event which took place during the period of British rule. in what is now known as Kanpur. The Memorial Church commemorates a massacre of British civilians at Bibi-Ghar (the House of the Ladies) in 1857. Their bodies were thrown down a nearby well. Cigarette card produced by the Westminster Tobacco Co Ltd, Indian Empire, 1st series. This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
