Born in Tasmania and now located in Western Australia, Margaret Coxall has lived in many locations including Malaysia and the United States. She started painting fulltime whilst living in the San Fransico area and was able to study and work with the great watermedia artists located there. Known for her use of vivid colour, and contemporary feel for the Australian landscape, She says "I am inspired by the mysterious and timeless qualities that are in the landscape around us." She enjoys exploring different techniques and subject matter and her new series "Portals" are gateways into another world of exploration. Colour, texture and multi imagery are used to produce works that are evocative of place and time. Themes can include history, literature, landscape and even cookery, all subjects close to the artist's heart.
