Artist Shirley Novak is a lifetime gardening enthusiast and flower lover who derives great joy in combining these passions in to an idyllic painter’s life. A “plein air” artist she moved to Colorado from California to paint outdoors and in generous light. Taking advantage of the gorgeous year round weather and scenery she regularly paints in her gardens, in the meadows of the San Juan Mountains or in her light-filled and airy studio. She prefers to work with oils using a wet-on-wet technique to create her cheerful, color-rich florals and many fine galleries exhibit her work. Novak shares her love of painting with her artist husband.
