I captured this image over Presidents Day weekend in White Sands National Monument. I had been wanting to go camp out there for quite some time and finally had the opportunity to do it. Normally when Im shooting astro, I try to go to really remote places with dark skies. While White Sands is in the middle of nowhere, its also surrounded by multiple small cities. Even though the cities are small. they still give off enough light pollution where the glow is visible to the naked eye. While Ive generally tried to avoid light pollution, Ive started to like how it adds a splash of color to the night sky sometimes.
This photographic print leverages sophisticated digital technology to capture a level of detail that is absolutely stunning. The colors are vivid and pure. The high-quality archival paper, a favorite choice among professional photographers, has a refined luster quality.
