William Wordsworth, English poet. One of the pioneers of the Romantic movement in English literature, Wordsworth was born in Cockermouth, Cumbria, in 1770. He was Poet Laureate from 1843 until his death in 1850. He is buried in the churchyard of St Oswald's Church, Grasmere. (Colorised black and white print).
