About This Piece
The Art
'Experience as storewomen', 1940. From Life in the A.T.S., booklet on the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS), in Tuck's Better Little Book series. The ATS was the women's branch of the British Army during the Second World War, and women serving received two thirds the pay of male soldiers. Initially their duties as were cooks, clerks and storekeepers, but these were expanded to create roles as orderlies, drivers, postal workers and ammunition inspectors. [Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd, London, 1940]

This giclée print delivers a vivid image with maximum color accuracy and exceptional resolution. The standard for museums and galleries around the world, giclée is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are “sprayed” onto high-quality paper. With the great degree of detail and smooth transitions of color gradients, giclée prints appear much more realistic than other reproduction prints. The high-quality paper (235 gsm) is acid free with a smooth surface.
