About This Piece
The Art
'The Gallery of Costume: Dresses Worn in the Days When Queen Mary Reigned', c1934. Illustration of costume worn towards the end of the reign of King Edward V (1547-1553 and during the reign of his sister Queen Mary I (1553-1558). Instructions are given in the accompanying text on how to trace the figures onto thin paper, paste them onto cardboard, and cut them out. Information on what colours to use is also given. From The Romance of the Nation, Volume Two, edited by Charles Ray. [The Amalgamated Press, Ltd., London, c1934]

This giclée print delivers a vivid image with maximum color accuracy and exceptional resolution. The standard for museums and galleries around the world, giclée is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are “sprayed” onto high-quality paper. With the great degree of detail and smooth transitions of color gradients, giclée prints appear much more realistic than other reproduction prints. The high-quality paper (235 gsm) is acid free with a smooth surface.
