About This Piece
The Art
James II, King of Great Britain and Ireland from 1685, (1932). The second surviving son of King Charles I, James (1633-1701) became king on the death of his brother, Charles II. A Catholic, he lost the throne in 1688 to the Protestant William of Orange in what came to be known as the 'Glorious Revolution'. From Kings and Queens by Eleanor and Herbert Farjeon, 1932.

This giclée print delivers a vivid image with maximum color accuracy and exceptional resolution. The standard for museums and galleries around the world, giclée is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are “sprayed” onto high-quality paper. With the great degree of detail and smooth transitions of color gradients, giclée prints appear much more realistic than other reproduction prints. The high-quality paper (235 gsm) is acid free with a smooth surface.
