About This Piece
The Art
This fine art print is produced using sustainable and enviromentally friendly practices, according to the international ISO14001 Environmental Management standard. The detailed proofing process and standarized printing plates of offset lithography ensure this print reproduction maintains vivid colors and faithfulness to the original work of art.

Permanently bonding an image to a thick piece of hardboard and adding a protective laminate creates this mounted print. Distinctly crafted for an elegant and modern look, this piece is finished with a black beveled edge. The mount is braced in the back to gracefully lift the print off the wall. Mounted prints are constructed upon order by skilled artisans. A unique and affordable alternative to framing.

The Artist
Alphonse Mucha (1860 – 1939) was a Czechoslovakian Art Nouveau artist who pioneered a sensuous, ornate style replete in stained glass colors, elaborately curving lines and ethereal women. Realizing that living people created the art he admired in churches, Mucha became inspired to paint. Moving to Paris, he was initially the archetypical starving artist, until Sarah Bernhardt asked him to create a poster for the play, “Gismonda.” The life-size poster, which was the antithesis of artistic trends of the day, was a sensation. Bernhardt signed him to a six-year contract, and he became a household name. Mucha’s style experienced an enthusiastic revival in the 1960s, particularly in psychedelic posters.
