Product Details

This stretched canvas print was produced in a limited edition of 100. It is signed and numbered by the artist, and a certificate of authenticity is included.Printed on canvas using sophisticated giclée technology, which delivers a vivid image with maximum color accuracy and exceptional resolution. The standard for museums and galleries around the world, giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the canvas surface. With the great degree of detail and smooth transitions of color gradients, giclée prints appear much more realistic than other prints.

About the Art

Ford Smith is a visionary artist whose works, reminiscent of an Asian aesthetic, use textures, shapes and color to infuse his work with subtlety and tranquility. Smith’s technique is as unique as his results: layering dripping, flowing acrylic paints which find their own expression, texturized with scattered granules of plaster. During the late 1970s and 80s, Smith, who learned to paint in Japan, was Atlanta’s most prominent fashion photographer. Compelled to return to painting, he traveled to seek inspiration, and gravitated to landscapes with exquisite horizons. Although he has a background in photography, Smith never paints from a photograph.
