Claude Monet

Claude Monet was the founder of Impressionism and was the most consistent and prolific practitioner of Impressionism's philosophy of expressing one's perceptions of nature, especially as applied to plein-air painting. Monet’s home and gardens in Giverny inspired his most iconic works including his paintings of water lilies in his garden pond, the Japanese bridge and beautiful landscapes for which he dedicated the last 25 years of his life, and serve as a source of inspiration for generations of art lovers.
