The civil rights movement started in 1955's segregated Alabama when African-American woman Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to move to the back of the bus. While the civil rights movement ended in 1968 with the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., the struggle for equality still resonates today. To mark this time in America's history and celebrate the important work done during the 1950s and 1960s, use giclee and photographic prints to tell the story. Look for photographic prints that immortalize events like the black and white print from the Associated Press' "Civil Rights Washington March 1963" and their "U.S. Court Desegregation Ruling." To show the work isn't yet done, add an art print of "Black Lives Matter" into your display.
