Day of the Dead, or Día de los Muertos, is a Mexican holiday associated with the Catholic observance of All Saints' Day on November 1st and All Souls' Day on November 2nd. Family and friends gather to celebrate life and remember loved ones who have passed on. Memorial altars, called ofrendas, are created using pictures of deceased loved ones as well as flowers, candles, food, and drink. Intricate and colorfully painted skulls known as calaveras are made from sugar or clay and are an embodiment of the day of the dead holiday. Bring elements of the richly symbolic Day of the Dead holiday into your decor through giclee and art prints.
