Renaissance means rebirth. Renaissance artworks were created during the 15th and 16th centuries in Europe. This time in history, as the European culture moved out of the medieval period, was marked by global economic growth, social mobility, and changes in the secularization of daily life. This was an expansive era for art and artists. It includes some of history's most iconic artists who created the most well-known artworks, like Leonardo da Vinci's 'Mona Lisa,' 'Vitruvian man,' and his 'The Last Supper.' Another example is Michelangelo Buonarroti's Sistine Chapel paintings including 'The Creation of Adam' and his famous sculpture, 'David.' Belgium painter and printmaker Pieter Bruegel the Elder was the most significant artist of the Dutch and Flemish Renaissance and is known for landscapes and peasant scenes. Through modern printing processes, you are able to bring stunning prints of these famous artworks home.
