Forces under Alaric I, King of the Visigoths from 395, sacking Rome, 410 (1654). Alaric (c370-410) ruled the Visigoths (western Goths) from 395. In 410, his army sacked Rome, an event regarded as marking the downfall of the Roman Empire in the west. From Alaric ou Rome vaincue (Alaric or the Conquest of Rome) an heroic poem dedicated to Queen Christina of Sweden (1626-1689) by Georges de Scudery. (Paris, 1654). This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
