Letter from Desiderius Erasmus to Nicholas Everaerts, 24th December 1525. Letter written in Latin from Basle by Erasmus to Dr Nicholas Everaerts, President of Holland, on the marriage of Martin Luther, his own futile efforts for peace, his Apologia against the Carthusian Petrus Sutor (Basle, 1525), the death of his friend Martin Van Dorp (31st May, 1525), the excesses of the peasant insurrection in Germany and a reccomendation of Francis Delft, the bearer. From the third series of Facsimiles of royal, historical, literary and other autographs in the Department of Manuscripts, British Museum: Series I-V, (London, 1899). This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
