About This Piece
The Art
Procession to welcome the early release of suffragettes from prison on 19 December 1908. Procession in Trafalgar Square to welcome Emmeline Pankhurst (1858-1928), Christabel Pankhurst (1880-1958) and Mary Leigh (1885-1965) on their early release from Holloway Prison. Women on white horses drew their carriage and lines of WSPU (Women's Social and Political Union) members marched in support. The three women had been jailed for their part in inciting the public to 'rush' the House of Commons in October 1908.

This photographic print leverages sophisticated digital technology to capture a level of detail that is absolutely stunning. The colors are vivid and pure. The high-quality archival paper, a favorite choice among professional photographers, has a refined luster quality.
