About This Piece
The Art
This giclée print delivers a vivid image with maximum color accuracy and exceptional resolution. The standard for museums and galleries around the world, giclée is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are “sprayed” onto high-quality paper. With the great degree of detail and smooth transitions of color gradients, giclée prints appear much more realistic than other reproduction prints. The high-quality paper (235 gsm) is acid free with a smooth surface.

The Artist
A pioneer of photojournalism, the Hungarian-born Almasy (1906 – 2003) traveled and photographed the world for six decades. He documented countries, states, cultures, everyday life, plants and animals in a detailed archive of 20th century history that encompassed 120,000 photographs. Striving to inform the viewer with his images, Almasy emphasized content over form, nevertheless producing an abundance of striking, stunningly composed photos.
