The Venerable Bede (c673-735), Anglo-Saxon theologian, scholar and historian, 1493. Seen here holding a book, Bede was a monk at Jarrow, Northumberland. As a scholar and historian his most important work was the Historia ecclesiastica gentis Anglorum (The Ecclesiastical History of the English People), a political and ecclesiastical history of England from the time of Caesar to the date when Bede completed it (731). From Liber chronicarum mundi (Nuremberg Chronicle) by Hartmann Schedel. (Nuremberg, 1493). This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
