Emma Goldman, Russian-born American anarchist and agitator, early 20th century. Goldman (1869-1940) and her fellow anarchist Alexander Berkman (1870-1936) were deported from the United States in 1919. They had previously been imprisoned in 1917 for trying to induce men not to register for consription to serve in the military.
