The Artist
Born in Colorado and residing in Arizona, contemporary painter Michael Longo creates soft, beautiful scenes whose timeless, ethereal beauty is reminiscent of the work of master Impressionists. Known for landscapes filled with misty water gardens, he focuses less on the technical aspects of his work than his ability to recreate distinctive atmosphere. Beginning his career as an apprentice to a Belgian wood carver and furniture maker, the experience influenced Longo’s art, giving it traditional sculptural qualities of space and depth. Enjoying sailing the waters surrounding Vancouver, British Columbia, Longo expresses the tranquility of its harbors and rivers in his artwork.
