The Artist
Roy Lichtenstein (1923 – 1997), was a Pop artist whose work was torn from the pages of torrid pulp fiction novels and classic comic books. Lichtenstein was initially a university instructor where he was influenced by artists who based their styles on everyday life. First painting semi-abstractions of the Old West, he later depicted 20th century Americana such as Mickey Mouse and bubble gum wrappers. In 1961, he began exclusively painting comic strip scenes printed with a process that simulated photoengraver’s dots. Lichtenstein’s other works exposed the contradictions of representing three dimensions on a flat surface.

Kiss II was also produced w/man on left
I have an image of Kiss II from an auction catalog, Cristie's I think, from some time ago. The man is on the left. I guess he produced more than one Kiss II. With the woman on the left, she seems less feminine. I've actually noticed in life, many men seem to be sitting back and allowing the woman to advance. Also, apparently this version is the more popular one. Next to my "man on left" drawing, not the planned location, the artist seems to teach. I'm still looking for the man on the left, but, by the time I find it, my preference and I may have changed! The Art.com poster is a beautiful, quality, vivid poster.

Attractive Framing
There was a nice selection of frame choices. We chose the black with gilt on the inside bevel, very handsome and good quality. Helpful computer viewing system to try out different styles. The non glare plexi has become my favorite covering for effect and light weight. I would like to have had the small print about the product at the bottom covered by the frame, it doesn't add to the design of the poster.

Wish it had been mailed flat.
It came in a protective tube, which is good, but I didn't have time to lay it out flat before framing. My husband loved his Christmas present! He had admired it on our calendar last year -- I paid attention to what his said and surprised him. Easy to find on Art.com!
